Unit4 hires Stuart Nash as chief operating officer

Stuart Nash has joined Unit4, as it looks to build on the earlier success of its customer success organisation. Arriving as chief operating officer, he will take responsibility for the practice, including its Success4U programme, and Unit4’s IT operations team.

“It is exciting to be joining Unit4 as it implements its 2030 strategy to significantly grow the business,” Nash said of his new role. “Our customer success strategy will be integral to bringing our customers on the journey with Unit4 to maximise the value they receive from our AI-native ERP capabilities. Likewise, we must continue to drive innovation and operational transformation in our approach to IT and business processes to best support our teams as they look to deliver value to our customers.”

Unit4 is a global organisation specialising in enterprise cloud applications for ‘people-centric’ organisations. Its ERP offering powers many of the world’s mid-market organisations, with its more-than 2,400 colleagues serving over 5,100 customers across a number of industries including professional services, nonprofit and public sector.

Nash joins as COO, arriving from Finastra where he was global chief information officer. He brings a wealth of experience from a variety of executive customer, IT and transformational leadership roles, and will now be responsible for boosting Unit4’s customer success team onboarding and adoption cycles for customers – currently seeing implementations delivered in just 90 days on average.

Looking ahead, Nash will also work closely with the IT team to enhance its role as a digital enablement partner for the business, as well as focusing on the broader integration and optimisation of Unit4’s end-to-end business processes.

“Stuart brings 30 years of experience in operational leadership and transformation which will be invaluable in helping us raise the bar for our customers as we continue to innovate,” said Simon Paris, CEO, Unit4. “Customer Success remains central to how we support our customers, helps us deliver the highest levels of satisfaction and retention. Stuart’s brief is to build on the excellent work of the Success4U programme, which is accelerating customer migrations and delivering tangible and rapid time-to-value for our customers.”

As part of the transition, incumbent chief customer officer Jean de Villiers will be leaving Unit4, having laid the foundations of the customer success strategy and established Success4U as Unit4’s primary customer engagement approach.
