Interpath brings in Suwin Lee as global head of tax
Interpath has appointed Suwin Lee as a managing director and global head of tax as the international advisory firm continues to expand its advisory offering and global service lines. She brings three decades of experience – spanning restructuring tax, transaction tax, and complex crossborder deal advisory – to the firm.
Russ Worrall, head of advisory at Interpath, commented, “Suwin is an exceptional addition to Interpath. Her ability to move seamlessly between restructuring tax and transaction tax is highly valuable for our clients, and her record of building high-performing cross-sector teams in EMEA combined with her experience leading UK-China investment routes aligns perfectly with Interpath’s wider growth strategy. Importantly her expertise complements the capabilities we have in place as she joins a strong existing tax team committed to building a market leading offering to our clients.”
The appointment comes shortly after Interpath has confirmed the successful completion of its new investment from leading private equity investor, Bridgepoint. The investment will support Interpath in the next phase of its growth journey – with the firm currently employing over 1,000 professionals globally across 14 countries including the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, the Caribbean, Hong Kong and Singapore.
Lee began her tax career in Australia with PwC and with the internal tax team at Rio Tinto before moving to London with EY where she spent 24 years, which included a period with its New York office, and later became a Partner in 2010, enjoying a 16-year tenure. She has also specialised in delivering tax advisory services to the energy sector, restructuring and cross-border engagements.
At Interpath, Lee will work closely with UK tax lead, Gavin Little, to further develop Interpath’s tax practice that supports clients across deal advisory and restructuring. Her appointment follows the recent hires of managing director Sheyma Raja, who joined the UK tax team in June this year with a further two decades of tax expertise and complex transactions, as well as Andrew Kenny who has joined to lead Interpath’s tax team in Ireland.
Commenting on her appointment, Lee, who will now serve as global head of tax at Interpath, added, “Interpath’s agility and integrated approach to deals and restructuring is exactly where the market is heading. Clients increasingly want advisers who can pivot, whether they’re navigating a complex restructuring or moving straight into a transaction. I’m excited to help grow the tax practice internationally.”
