Matt Ösund-Ireland joins HKA’s environment and climate practice
Matt Ösund-Ireland has joined HKA as a partner in the firm’s London office. He arrives in its expanding environment and climate change practice, bringing specialisms including air quality, emissions and climate change advisory with him.

UK-headquartered HKA is global consulting firm with over 45 offices in 17 countries. Its investigations team works for clients across sectors, mainly in highly regulated industries. With a global network of experts and deep sector knowledge, HKA also regularly supplies expert witness services across construction and engineering disputes.
Prior to joining HKA, Öslund-Ireland held senior roles at Susteer, Wood, AECOM, and Mott MacDonald, among others. He has worked across a broad range of sectors including transport, energy, manufacturing, urban regeneration, large industry, and waste, supporting clients through disputes, regulatory scrutiny, and high-profile infrastructure developments.
A Chartered Environmental Scientist, he brings over 30 years of experience advising governments, corporates, and financial institutions on environmental, climate, and sustainability matters across more than 25 countries. He has supported complex, nationally significant and highly-regulated projects worldwide, with expertise spanning strategy, environmental compliance, impact assessment, due diligence, and climate risk.
Looking ahead, he will work closely with HKA’s international teams to support clients across disputes, investigations and advisory engagements involving climate risk, carbon, environmental compliance, and sustainability related issues.
