Environmental consultancy E3P launches multidisciplinary historic division
Boutique consultancy E3P has launched a dedicated historic environment division to provide a more integrated solution for development projects. The UK firm has hired Beki Jones to head up the division, bringing experience of archaeological consultancy, including starting her career as a field archaeologist.
Founded in 2013, E3P is a multidisciplinary environmental consultancy based in Urmston, England. Its air quality, acoustics, archaeology, ecology, geo-environmental, geotechnical, vibration and waste teams work to support clients operating across a broad spectrum of projects. Ranging from regeneration of derelict land for new development, E3P has advised on corporate transactions and environmental risk, sustainable development of previously undeveloped sites and expert witness work throughout the UK.
The new historic environment division will build upon E3P’s capabilities, by bringing together its acoustics, archaeological, geotechnical, ecological, and environmental expertise for development projects. The wing will aim to aid developers in understanding conditions and heritage constraints early in a projects; as by planning archaeological works alongside other environmental disciplines, it can reduce delays, cuts costs, and mean clients have a clearer picture of risk from the start.
Martin Dyer, CEO of E3P, commented, “We saw a clear gap in the market, as archaeological services are often delivered separately from ground and environment investigations, which can create delays and inefficiencies for developers. Our historic environment division addresses this industry pain point, providing clients with fully integrated support from the outset of a project.”
Beki Jones has been appointed associate director of historic environment to lead the division, bringing extensive experience providing archaeological consultancy across major residential, commercial, and utilities and infrastructure projects for multi-national corporations. Having started her career as a field archaeologist, she moved into consultancy and project management, guiding developments from planning through to implementation.
Jones remarked, “This is a unique opportunity to build a solutions-focused, data-driven team that supports all of E3P’s services, providing clients with a holistic approach. By combining our expertise in intrusive ground investigation, site management, health and safety, and archaeology, we can deliver practical, integrated solutions that streamline site operations, reduce uncertainty, and give clients clearer insight for decision-making at every stage.”
