Tech consultancy Double Diamond Delivery strikes partnership with Spherica Business Solutions
Double Diamond Delivery has secured an important new investment, as it looks to expand its services across the south of England. The Bath-based firm has secured a strategic partnership with Spherica Business Solutions, in a deal supported by KBS Corporate.
Founded by Olly Lock, incorporated in 2021 and based in Bath, Double Diamond offers extensive experience in technology-enabled change, structured delivery, solution design, and operational improvement. The firm supports clients in a range of market sectors including local authorities, housing associations and healthcare, while sister company, Double Diamond Recruitment, provides supplementary recruitment services to those same firms.
As the firm looks to push ahead with growth plans, a major stake in Double Diamond has been acquired by Spherica, a Birmingham-based technology and IT managed services provider which enables organisations to modernise technology, maximise performance, and fully leverage AI and automation.
Kay Riley, Spherica’s managing director, commented, “This investment represents a key milestone for Spherica. Bringing Double Diamond into the group strengthens our transformation capability and enables us to help more organisations turn technology change into meaningful operational outcomes.”
As Double Diamond looks to further stimulate growth, CEO Olly Lock – who remains at the head of the company – insisted that the deal was more of a strategic partnership than a straight purchase. He argued that while Spherica is acquiring a majority shareholding, meaning officially the firm is “being ‘acquired’”, in actuality “we see this as a partnership.”
Lock added, “Double Diamond Delivery and Double Diamond Recruitment will remain as organisations in their own right, although legal structures will place us as part of the Spherica group. It’s a no-change position, however we expect to see huge benefits of being part of a larger organisation from a business development and operational perspective.”
The transaction was advised by Will Griffiths, a deal executive with KBS Corporate. Griffiths explained that the firm was “delighted to bring the transaction process to a successful conclusion”.
He expanded, “I’d like to offer my congratulations to both Olly and Spherica. It’s a great outcome for all involved and I wish them the best of luck going forward.”
