A&M names Jamie Peel senior director in new public company advisory wing

Jamie Peel has joined Alvarez & Marsal as a senior director to lead its public company advisory group. The new team sits within the firm’s corporate finance practice.

Commenting on his appointment, Peel said, “I’m excited to be joining Alvarez & Marsal as the first hire in the new public company advisory group. There’s a clear gap in the mid-market for specialist independent Corporate Finance advice for listed companies and private companies looking at utilising the public markets. A&M’s global platform is well positioned to bridge this gap, by combining access to UK and international buyers with deep sector knowledge and capital markets expertise. I’m looking forward to growing the team alongside Jonathan and helping more clients successfully navigate complex public company transactions.”

Based in Manchester, Peel brings more than 13 years of experience in Corporate Finance and Investment Banking, having advised clients across various sectors on IPOs, public M&A and corporate strategy. He has advised private and public companies on a wide range of transaction types with deal sizes ranging from £5 million to over £500 million. He joins from PwC, where he was a director in the M&A team – while prior to this, he worked as an investment banking director at Zeus Capital.

The senior hire builds on the sustained growth of A&M’s corporate finance practice which now comprises 260 people across key sectors and 20 countries globally. Looking ahead, Peel will focus on establishing A&M’s public company advisory capability globally, addressing a gap in the mid-market for independent public company advisory services. He is the first member of the new group, with additional senior hires expected in due course.
