Project One releases podcast on defining AI beyond the buzzwords

Boutique consultancy Project One has launched a new episode of its inhouse podcast. Leigh Adams will guest to discuss where businesses can find wins from AI that go beyond buzzwords.

Project One’s Transformation Talks podcast is dedicated to highlighting the strategies, stories and insights that help business leaders navigate complex change and transformation with confidence. Available across all leading podcast platforms, the monthly show will cover a new topic each month.

The podcast’s sixth outing will take stock of artificial intelligence, as businesses work to find a leading use case for the technology. After almost three years of excitement around the technology, firms are increasingly keen to find returns on their substantial investment.

Some of this may boil down to companies needing to manage their expectations about what AI can actually do. For all the clamour to declare each generation of AI more intelligent than the last, its potential still hinges on being used correctly. As Leigh Adams, consulting director with Project One, states, it remains a digital tool, that does not take initiatives for itself.

“It’s all still about people,” Adams explained in the episode. “In your job role, the benefits of AI might still be about the collation of data, but it doesn’t mean AI is just going to give it to you. You still have to know what you are looking for, how to construct the request, what the output will be, what you actually want – so it is like having a human conversation almost.”

Over the course of the episode, Adams and host Hayley Saich discuss what AI really means beyond the buzzwords. They explore how professionals should define AI in ways that truly matter to people and organisations; who should be accountable for identifying where AI can drive efficiencies; and how firms ensure it’s being used both responsibly and effectively.

The latest episode follows a number of other important discussions from Project One professionals. Earlier in the year, Estelle Eades guested to discuss how companies can support staff amid constant change, with the right forms of change management.
