Opus continues to grow offering in Manchester

Opus Business Advisory Group is continuing its strong growth in Manchester. The firm has committed to a string of hires, as it looks to meet growing demand in the North-West of England.

Tim Dolder, managing partner, stated, “The pace of growth in Manchester underlines the confidence businesses are placing in Opus. By strengthening the team with high-calibre professionals and offering the combination of insolvency and advisory services, we’re ensuring we can meet that demand and continue to support businesses across the region with the right advice at the right time.”

Opus Business Advisory is a consulting group that assists clients in achieving their objectives, enhancing value and attaining the best possible results. Providing specialist skills to facilitate the next steps of the client’s business journey, the group has 14 offices across the UK, with a headcount of over 100 and 35 partners.

The firm has made a series of recent hires to strengthen its Manchester operations, most recently welcoming Ed Ferguson to the financial advisory, restructuring and insolvency team. His appointment reflects Opus’s focus on recruiting the best talent to deliver trusted advice to the region’s business community.

“Manchester has become one of our fastest growing teams, underpinned by a diverse and resilient economy,” said Frank Ofonagoro, head of the firm’s Manchester office. “We’ve invested heavily in building a hub here that can deliver the right blend of financial advisory, restructuring and insolvency expertise, and that strategy is paying off. With businesses facing a challenging climate, the need for practical, pragmatic advice that prioritises business survival and recovery has never been greater.”

Ferguson brings significant experience from Mazars, where he worked on a range of corporate insolvency cases, including trading administrations, and also spent a period with Deloitte in Australia, gaining additional financial advisory expertise. As a result, Opus is now a seven-strong team in Manchester, with five people in advisory and corporate insolvency and two in personal insolvency.

Looking ahead, Ferguson added, “The balance of insolvency and advisory expertise at Opus immediately stood out to me. While many firms focus heavily on one or the other, Opus is building a team capable of delivering both. This enables us to support clients at every stage of the business lifecycle and make a tangible difference. It’s an exciting time to be joining the Manchester office.”
