Grant Thornton promotes David Mountjoy to lead financial modelling
Audit and advisory firm Grant Thornton UK has promoted David Mountjoy to partner in the firm’s financial modelling team. Mountjoy remarked that he was “incredibly proud to have been promoted to partner” and to be leading the team.
He continued, “Since joining the firm in 2013, I’ve been massively grateful for the support, coaching, and encouragement that I’ve received from colleagues and clients to help me develop in such a nurturing environment… I’m excited to work alongside such talented individuals who are as passionate about developing great models and supporting clients as I am. Together, we’re well-positioned to help businesses navigate complex challenges and unlock new opportunities for growth.”
According to Mountjoy, financial models are “more important than ever”, amid the continuous economic chaos of 2025. Accurate financial models can allow businesses to gain insight into the potential financial impact of different changes or situations, testing out their decisions in each scenario to drive better-informed decisions.
As partner, Mountjoy will lead and expand Grant Thornton’s specialist financial modelling capabilities to support clients across a range of fronts. This includes transactions and fundraising, strategic planning and decision support, restructuring and insolvency, and funds and valuations.
Mountjoy’s promotion also exemplifies Grant Thornton’s commitment to nurturing talent and recognising leadership excellence within its advisory practice. With 20 years’ experience in professional services and 15 years specialising in financial modelling, he brings extensive financial modelling expertise across a broad range of sectors and situations.
Tomas Freyman, UK leader for valuations and modelling at Grant Thornton, commented, “David’s promotion to partner is a testament to both his exceptional capabilities and our firm’s commitment to developing homegrown talent… As businesses face an increasingly complex operating environment, having trusted advisers who can provide clarity and strategic direction is more valuable than ever.”
