Melanie Reed named head of advisory at Moore Kingston Smith
Moore Kingston Smith has strengthened its senior leadership team with the hiring of a new advisory expert. Melanie Reed’s promotion comes as the firm looks to boost its consulting offering for clients.
Matt Meadows, managing partner of Moore Kingston Smith, commented, "Melanie’s leadership will be instrumental in formalising our cohesive advisory approach, ensuring we continue delivering exceptional value and innovative solutions to our clients as their needs evolve."
Looking ahead, Reed will lead the integration and cohesive delivery of the firm’s diverse advisory offerings, including corporate finance, legal, restructuring and insolvency, wealth management, forensics, valuations, HR consultancy, business growth and cyber security services. She also continues to specialise in providing M&A tax advice, particularly for clients in the media sector.
Reed brings over two decades of experience to this role. Beginning her career in tax, she spent 12 years at Grant Thornton, before leading the national corporate tax practice at RSM. In 2021, she joined Moore Kingston Smith, helping offer a deep understanding of the professional services landscape at the firm.
Her appointment to the senior leadership team bolsters the firm’s strategic focus. Known for her collaborative nature, Moore Kingston Smith says Reed’s leadership style is “rooted in her ability to understand and motivate people”. Her perspective and knowledge of best practices will be “invaluable in driving the firm’s strategic growth and fostering a forward-thinking, inclusive culture that reinforces its core value of understanding”.
