Dow Schofield Watts launches Pathway to Partner initiative
Professional services firm Dow Schofield Watts has launched a training programme to empower a new generation of business leaders. The programme will offer personal a gateway to director-level experience, in order to become partners of their own businesses.
Founded in 2002, Dow Schofield Watts is a business advisory group, providing owner-managed businesses in the UK regions with deal advisory, tax, investment, business recovery and legal services. The firm’s network features a “partner-led approach” aiming to enable “owner managers to create, protect and realise value” – a culture which the firm has placed at the heart of its new initiative.
Shru Morris, CEO at Dow Schofield Watts, said, “There’s a growing pool of talented professionals who are ready to lead, but are finding themselves constrained by outdated structures and slow progression in larger firms. As a business, we are passionate about helping aspiring entrepreneurs to start and develop their own businesses.
Dow Schofield Watt’s Pathway to Partner scheme is designed to accelerate the progression of ambitious professionals by providing a clear, supported route to business ownership. Offering “experienced individuals” the opportunity to “join at director level”, in order to develop the necessary skills to be a partner “leading their own business under the Dow Schofield Watts brand”.
Long-term plans
The launch combines two historic consulting trends. The industry has long championed entrepreneurship among its own staff; and the experience gained from consulting work with top CEOs and governments has often helped employees to find success when they return to industry.
In Pathway to Partner, participants will see both sides of this. They will benefit from a structured development journey, underpinned by dedicated mentoring, leadership training, business funding and access to comprehensive operational support. Then once they have built their networks, they will lead and manage projects, work closely with clients providing expert advice and help to develop and grow teams.
Dow Schofield Watts points to “a long history of supporting entrepreneurial professionals”. Since its inception, the firm has grown into one of the UK’s most recognisable names in professional services, supporting the launch of more than 25 licensee businesses and completing more than 500 deals worth in excess of £10 billion.
Morris concluded, “With Pathway to Partner, we’ve built something different: a platform that gives them the support they need without holding them back. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity that will enable the right people to invest in their professional development, accelerate their career progression, fulfil their potential, and thrive.”
