Matt Symonds joins CIL Management Consultants as new chair
CIL Management Consultants has appointed Matt Symonds as its new chair. According to Managing Partner Jon Whiteman, the move will position the consultancy well for upcoming expansion plans.
"We’re very pleased to welcome Matt Symonds as our new chair,” Whiteman explained. “His wealth of experience in consultancy and deep understanding of client challenges will be instrumental as we pursue CIL’s next phase of growth."
A former senior partner at Bain & Company, Symonds led the UK financial services practice of the MBB firm. Elsewhere, he is a co-founder and Partner at Altair, where he operates as a sounding board, coach and adviser to CEOs and leaders in the private sector and multinationals. He also sits on the boards of global investigative firm Nardello & Co. and UK law firm Howard Kennedy.
Looking ahead, Symonds steps in to support CIL’s senior leadership team as they steer the firm through its next chapter. This will include building deeper expertise in areas such as value creation and pricing, as well as further expanding CIL’s presence, particularly in the US.
Symonds, said of the latest chapter in his career, "CIL is a fantastic success story, well regarded for its quality and expertise in growth strategy. I’m looking forward to working closely with Jon and the leadership team to help shape the firm’s future. In a time of significant economic and political uncertainty, businesses need insightful, high-quality advice more than ever."
He succeeds Simon Hammett, who has overseen a period of strong international expansion, including successful launches in France, Germany, and the US. Hammett has also presided over the development of new service lines and a period of solid financial growth at the firm – at a time which many other large consultancies have found difficult.
To that end, Whiteman added, "I want to personally thank Simon Hammett for his support and leadership over the past six years. His guidance has been invaluable in helping us grow CIL’s capabilities, broaden our service offer, and successfully expand into new international markets."
