BIP subsidiary Verco lauded for sustainability expertise
Verco has been celebrated as a leader in the UK’s ESG technology space. TechRound’s Sustainability60 campaign has placed the BIP subsidiary in the top-10 sustainability innovators in the country.
Founded in 1989, Verco is an energy management and sustainability business with 30 years’ experience at the cutting-edge of the low carbon economy. In 2023, the firm was purchased by BIP, in a move that enhanced the international network’s sustainability offerings, while also granting Verco access to more extensive resources, technologies, research assets, expertise and international talent, to better meet clients’ ESG goals.
Since becoming part of the BIP Group, Verco has enhanced its capabilities and reach. This includes the launch of Verco’s AI-powered MyVerco platform in 2024, which helps businesses manage their net zero goals more effectively. Making use of Verco’s extensive net zero dataset, MyVerco works to simplifies data management, provide costed forecasts, and give clients a dynamic, real-time view of their progress toward sustainability targets.
In the last year, meanwhile, Verco’s consultants have delivered important results, including completing net zero studies for factories across eight countries, shaping investment scenarios for over $5.5 billion in net zero projects, and delivering carbon audits that saved over 2,000 tonnes of CO2 for real estate clients. This has contributed to the company securing a top-10 spot in TechRound’s Sustainability60 Campaign 2025.
Dave Worthington, managing director at Verco, commented, “It’s always fantastic to be recognised for helping our customers achieve their sustainability goals. In this case, we’re proud to be listed among industry-leading innovators.”
Founded in 2016, TechRound is a leading technology news platform in the UK. Its Sustainability60 campaign celebrates 60 businesses and individuals who are pushing the boundaries of what is possible to create a greener world. According to a release from Verco, the firm’s sixth place ranking in the prestigious list “highlights the efforts of the entrepreneurs and companies driving forward sustainability through innovation and impact.”
Worthington added, “This is in no small part due to the development of MyVerco, which uses AI to identify anomalies and suggest the most relevant and cost-effective decarbonisation projects. We, and our parent company, BIP, have put a huge amount of time and effort into creating a platform that makes carbon reduction decisions easier, so it’s great that there’s interest in the strides we’re taking.”
