Facing several derails in a major ERP programme, Weetabix brought in specialised delivery consultants to bring the implementation back on track. Teaming up with Nine Feet Tall, that objective has now been achieved.

Weetabix is home to the UK’s most well-known breakfast cereals, cereal bars and drinks. With a family of iconic brands under their umbrella, including Weetabix, Alpen, Ready Brek and Weetos, the company has been fuelling the nation since 1932.

Having faced a few struggles in the progress of a transformative enterprise resource planning (ERP) programme, Weetabix’s leadership team was quick to bring in experts from Nine Feet Tall to rapidly resolve bottlenecks hampering progress and cost planning.

Nick Paul, senior manager at Nine Feet Tall and project lead, explained: “Weetabix had already begun their digital transformation journey but progress had stalled. We were brought in to work with the project team to reset the programme for success by further developing governance, reducing risks, and resolving key challenges to ensure its smooth delivery.”

Known internally as ‘Transformabix’, the ERP replacement programme was kicked off because the previous platform was coming to the end of its lifespan. While ERP systems are essential for running modern businesses, encompassing the tools and processes that support core functions such as human resources, manufacturing, supply chain, finance, and more, transitioning to a new ERP system can be one of the most daunting change tasks around.

Through a structured approach, combining functional expertise with end-to-end project and change management capabilities, the programme was ultimately delivered on-time and on-budget.

Suraj Subbarao, Head of Digital Transformation at Weetabix, praised Nine Feet Tall’s work, saying: “Nine Feet Tall’s expertise in ERP programme assurance was helpful in guiding us through our digital transformation journey.”

“The insights and support provided by their team have enhanced our progress, helped align our technology initiatives with our strategic goals, and has built capabilities that will sustain the organisation for future change programmes.”

With its new ERP system in place, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Weetabix has enhanced its operational efficiency and digital capabilities, crucial feats in an evolving and growingly competitive fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.

Headquartered in Bath and with offices in London and Manchester, Nine Feet Tall delivers complex change projects, aligning the power of people and technology. The change management consultancy firm is part of Talan Group, a French-origin group with more than 5,000 employees in 18 countries.
