Richard Knowlton boosts PMP Strategy TMT offering

PMP Strategy has announced the appointment of a new senior advisor. Richard Knowlton joins to help clients navigate complex financial landscapes, as PMP Strategy continues to expand its global footprint.
Founded in 2003, PMP Strategy works with its clients to help ensure the sustainable operational improvement of organisations, teams and collaborators, and to use strategy to realise the best value for deals. The firm has been growing rapidly this year – particularly in the world’s largest consulting market of the US, where it has completed more than 40 technology, media, and telecom (TMT) transactions in the last 12 months alone.
The arrival of Richard Knowlton helps bolster this growth, with over 25 years of experience in the TMT sector. His career has involved pivotal roles at Société Générale, where he was the head of its TMT Americas, and spearheaded the development of a comprehensive TMT sector strategy.
He also formed an internal joint venture with the infrastructure team to deliver groundbreaking hybrid financing structures for digital infrastructure, including data centres and fibre networks. His leadership in originating and executing lead arranging and underwriting mandates in software, ad-tech, internet, entertainment services, and cybersecurity segments has been instrumental in securing first-time issuer ratings from Moody’s and S&P. Meanwhile, a release from the firm adds that his strategic insights were crucial to the “first successfully syndicated cell tower ground lease transaction and the development of multi-layer financing structures for digital cinema rollouts”.
Knowlton has also held a long-standing relationship with PMP Strategy. Interacting with the firm “early on” in its expansion into North America, he was instrumental in “establishing our brand by co-authoring a leading white paper on open-access three years ago.”
