EY announces move to Paradise Birmingham

06 February 2025 Consultancy.uk

EY has become the latest consulting firm to announce it will relocate its Midlands operations to Paradise. The company will shift its Birmingham-based staff to the complex by 2026.

Simon O’Neill, office managing partner at EY in the Midlands, said, “The investment in a new office reflects our commitment to maintaining a prominent and lasting presence in the region. The new office will provide a high spec, working environment for our teams, in a low carbon building with great transport links. We are looking forward to welcoming our people and clients to our new premises when we move in next year.”

With a growing business of over 1,200 people and partners based in Birmingham, EY reports that it is enjoying strong levels of demand from clients across the Midlands. To cater to this, the Paradise complex is in prime location at Three Chamberlain Square, a 10-storey building and is in close proximity to both New Street and Snow Hill train stations, as well as major bus, metro and pedestrian routes. The wider Paradise estate also benefits from a cycle hub and a dedicated tram stop adjacent to Three Chamberlain Square.

The announced move will coincide with the end of EY’s current lease at One Colmore Square, where it has been based for the last 20 years. EY’s new office space is located on the top three floors of the building, occupying 70,000 sq ft, with the potential to expand further to support EY’s future growth.

Ross Fittall, commercial development director at Paradise asset and development manager MEPC, added, “We warmly welcome EY and its Midlands team to Three Chamberlain Square. The building’s unique, low carbon design make it a sustainable commercial destination in the Midlands. It underlines our commitment to a net zero future and has helped create a benchmark for the remaining phase at Paradise. This is being supported by occupiers like EY who are driven by their own principles around sustainability and commitment to creating a better, net zero world.”

EY is not alone in heading to Paradise, with international accounting and advisory firm Forvis Mazars having taken a lease in a state-of-the-art space at Two Chamberlain Square, in the heart of the Birmingham development. Engineering consultancy Arup revamped its Birmingham presence at the locale. And Big Four rival PwC also moved its 2,000 Birmingham staff into a new office at One Chamberlain Square in 2020.
