UK wing of FTI Consulting promotes 11 senior managing directors

To kick of the new year, FTI Consulting has announced a string of global promotions to senior managing director, including 11 in the UK. In the firm’s London office, Tim Battrick, Josie Corbett, Mark Davies, Michael Hennigan, Lewin Higgins-Green, Vicky Laws, Liam Nolan, Jon Priestley, Pierre-Jean Sebert, and Tim Warren ascend to the rank.
FTI Consulting is a global professional services firm, with over 8,300 staff in 34 countries worldwide. Specialising in corporate finance and restructuring, economic consulting, forensic and litigation consulting, it is the largest such firm in the US, and one of the largest in the UK, where its team of over 600 people based in London support clients through investigations, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, regulatory issue, reputation management, and transaction services.
Following a busy 2024, and with experts suggesting the global restructuring market may continue to heat in 2025, the firm has rewarded the hard work of its staff with a raft of promotions across its international offices. The 46 new senior managing directors will also help FTI to bolster its expertise to cope with further demand in the coming year. Of the global promotions, 11 were based in the UK.
Craig Ballard becomes a senior managing director in FTI’s corporate finance and restructuring team. Formerly of BDO, Ballard has more than a decade of restructuring experience advising senior lenders, corporates and private equity investors in stressed and distressed situations, and specialises in capital structure modelling, business reviews, due diligence and cash management.
Mark Davies has been promoted in the same team. Having been with Alvarez & Marsal before joining FTI, Davies has more than 30 years of experience across the full M&A lifecycle, from target screening and pre-deal due diligence to post-deal integration and separation. He works with owners and management teams to take control of investments, define strategy, strengthen governance and implement efficient operating models.
Lewin Higgins-Green, also makes senior managing director in corporate finance and restructuring. A former Big Four expert, Higgins-Green has nearly 20 years of experience providing advice on all aspects of employee taxation and incentive arrangements to employers with both UK domestic staff and internationally mobile employees, as well as personal tax advice.
Liam Nolan has similarly been promoted in the London office. A former PwC staffer, Nolan possesses more than 15 years of experience providing restructuring, turnaround and financial solutions to a wide range of stakeholders in stressed and distressed situations across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He specialises in leading management teams and companies through transformation and restructuring situations with a particular focus on liquidity and cash management, independent business reviews, business plan preparation, strategic options development and transaction implementation.
Pierre-Jean Sebert, is the final senior managing director in the corporate finance and restructuring team. Another former Alvarez & Marsal professional, he boasts deep analytical expertise combined with 30 years of experience, which enable his clients to benefit from tailored, actionable solutions.
Tim Battrick has been promoted to the same rank in the economic consulting wing. Specialising in the quantification of damages in commercial disputes and the valuation of businesses and intellectual property. He has been appointed as an expert witness in both litigation and arbitration and has testified before the High Court of England and Wales, as well as in London Court of International Arbitration, International Chamber of Commerce and International Centre for Dispute Resolution arbitrations.
Vicky Laws, also makes senior managing director in economic consulting. Laws has more than 17 years of experience providing financial advice in the context of litigation and international arbitration, and prior to joining FTI in 2013, she was an associate principal in the forensic services practice of Charles River Associates.
Tim Warren also ascends in the London economic consulting team. A former Barclays analyst, Warren has 20 years of experience providing expert valuation and damages advice combining corporate finance, economics and accounting expertise, with broad cross-sector experience.
Josie Corbett is elsewhere promoted to senior managing director in FTI’s strategic communications team. Corbett pioneered the FTI Consulting annual Retail Barometer, a research tool that takes the temperature of the retail sector and assesses consumer, media and city sentiment toward the world’s leading retail brands. Corbett specialises in enhancing and protecting corporate reputations within the retail, leisure and consumer goods sectors. Her areas of expertise include reputation management, thought leadership, media and stakeholder relations, purpose and narrative positioning, financial communications, M&A, IPO and issues and crisis management.
Jon Priestley also receives the promotion in the strategic communications wing. Priestley is a strategy, planning and digital specialist advising many of the world's largest and most complex organisations on their reputation and communications strategy across the financial services, technology and fast-moving consumer goods sectors. In particular, he specialises in reputation analytics, which combines data, analytics and reputation consulting to support clients looking to protect, rebuild or grow their reputations across their stakeholder base. His focus on integrating AI-led solutions with reputation advisory also provides clients with greater foresight around communications outcomes.
Michael Hennigan finally becomes a senior managing director in FTI’s forensic and litigation consulting wing, also based in London. A legally qualified quantity surveyor with more than 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, he has garnered experience on a variety of projects across the Europe, Middle East and Africa and Asia Pacific regions.
