UK professional services firm Menzies has announced its merger with London-based firm Rollings Butt as part of its ongoing growth strategy. The development is yet another significant expansion of Menzies’ capabilities, on the back of a series of strategic mergers.

Laurence Pagden, head of business recovery at Menzies, said,  “Our merger with Rollings Butt represents another important growth milestone for the Business Recovery department, as well as the wider Menzies team, and will further strengthen our presence in the capital. We share many valuable synergies with Rollings Butt, namely our strong connections to London, collaborative approach to client work and strong company culture, and its location and client and contact base in the City made it an excellent fit for us.”

Business Recovery is one of professional services firm Menzies’ core strengths. Adding more expert members to the firm’s specialist team will enable it to further enhance this proposition, while it pushes forward with its target of hitting £75 million in turnover by June 2025.

Founded in 2009, Rollings Butt is a boutique firm of restructuring and insolvency professionals, combining high quality and innovative service with personal focus and cost effectiveness. Rollings Butt is led by partners Mike Rollings, Steve Butt and James Money, licensed insolvency practitioners who have wide experience within the restructuring and insolvency sector.

The trio of directors and their seven employees will now join forces with the Menzies team in the UK capital from their existing office, based in the City of London. The move will also benefit Rollings Butt, as Menzies’ membership of the global HLB network also means Rollings Butt clients will benefit from turnkey services in 150 countries.

To that end, Butt added, “Dedication to excellence in both our work and client service has been the hallmark of our firm.  Joining forces with Menzies has been a natural fit and we look forward to seeing it augment our expertise and capabilities. By integrating our talent into one team, our clients will see our offering enhanced by the knowledge and experience of Menzies’ strong Business Recovery division and extensive international network.”

This development is yet another significant achievement for Menzies on the back of a series of strategic mergers, particularly in London where demand for services has grown steadily over the last 25 years. Last summer, this included a merger with international audit firm Butler & Co.
