haysmacintyre appoints Majid Hussain as head of private client

Majid Hussain has joined haysmacintyre as a partner. He will also head the firm’s private client, effective from mid-July.

Commenting on the appointment, Natasha Frangos, managing partner at haysmacintyre, said, “We are very excited to have Majid joining the firm. Majid brings with him hugely valuable experience and I am confident he will help the Private Client team continue to build on its excellent track record.”

Frangos added that new leadership could help to “inject fresh thinking and energy” into the firm, helping evolve haysmacintyre’s offering across all service lines and sectors. The London-based firm of chartered accountants and tax advisors has over 550 partners and staff providing advice to entrepreneurs, fast-growing and owner-managed businesses, and listed and not for profit organisations across the UK and internationally.

Hussain joins from Evelyn Partners, where he was a partner, and brings a wealth of experience across all areas of private client tax. Also a qualified barrister, he previously held roles at BDO, Deloitte and KPMG, and has a wealth of experience across all areas of private client tax, with particular expertise in advising international families, with former clients including private equity executives, professional sportspeople, leading entrepreneurs, and family offices.

Commenting on his appointment, Hussain added, “At a time where there is so much uncertainty around the UK tax system, including with the non-domiciled regime, there will of course be challenges ahead for many private clients and international families. I look forward to tackling these issues with a team that excels at providing proactive solutions for clients, both in the current, evolving landscape and in future.”

His appointment continues a strong period of growth for haysmacintyre, which has appointed and promoted seven new partners over the last 18 months. He picks up leadership of the private client team from Katharine Arthur, who successfully led the department for 11 years, alongside co-head Andrew Broome. Both professionals remain prominent Partners in the Private Client team, and will continue to work closely with Hussain in his role, as he leads the team to further develop and expand haysmacintyre’s private client service lines.
