Andrew Radford to lead UK professional services practice of BDO

BDO has appointed Andrew Radford as its new national head of professional services in the UK. He succeeds Nick Carter-Pegg who has held the position for the last 15 years. 

Speaking on the news, Carter-Pegg, who remains a partner at BDO, said, “I’ve taken much pride in holding this position for the last 15 years and helping to grow our fantastic team of individuals. Andrew is a natural successor to me and has proven his abilities across the last 15 years of working with a huge range of businesses in the sector.”

According to Carter-Pegg, with the market experiencing turbulence over 2024, professional services clients of BDO are increasingly requiring more complex and technical advice. Looking ahead, he expects Radford will continue to develop and shape the team and its capabilities to deliver the highest quality work for the businesses the firm works with.

Operating out of 18 locations across the UK, BDO covers all of the major business centres while offering local expertise to local firms – with a team comprising of approximately 7,400 people. As part of that, BDO has one of the largest teams dedicated to working with professional services firms in the UK. Its 180 audit, tax and advisory experts specialise in advising legal, recruitment, property advisory and consultancy businesses.

As the practice’s new leader, Andrew Radford brings more than 15 years of experience to the role, having worked across the professional services sector. Since joining BDO in 2004, he has worked with a variety of global and domestic professional services as well as a large number of private equity backed businesses and those listed on the main market and AIM. Now, he will continue to work alongside a range of professional services organisations including those in the legal, accountancy, consulting and executive search sectors.
