BDO announces two new partner hires in UK business
Professional services firm BDO has invested further in its audit and advisory offerings with the announcement of two new partner hires. Gemma Hoult joins as a partner in the south east, specialising in assurance work, while Jeroen Basten arrives as a partner in the Midlands, advising on digital projects.
Paul Eagland, managing partner at BDO, commented on the appointments, “Appointing talented individuals like Jeroen and Gemma reflects our ongoing investment in our audit and advisory capabilities and resources. Businesses across all sectors continue to navigate challenging economic conditions and require increasingly complex advice in order to succeed.”
Jeroen Basten joins BDO as a partner in the Midlands, having built up over 17 years’ experience in professional services. Based in Birmingham, he will take a lead role with the digital risk and advisory team (DRAS), helping organisations navigate risks related to regulations and IT transformation programmes, including the design and implementation of digital controls and technology. He joins fromDeloitte, where he was a senior manager, focusing on assurance and advisory related projects as part of the IT risk controls team with a focus on SAP and data analytics.
Speaking on his new role via LinkedIn, Basten noted, “Excited to share a major career milestone, as today I join BDO as a Partner. Thrilled to embark on this next phase, appreciative of the support along the way and ready to contribute to BDO’s continued success.”
Gemma Hoult meanwhile spent the last 23 years with KPMG, where she was an audit director. She joins BDO’s Gatwick office, and will serve as a partner in the south east of England, with a focus on audit work – drawing on her two decades of Big Four experience.
Hoult also added on LinkedIn, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Audit Partner at BDO UK.”
