Zühlke partners with UK climatetech GoCodeGreen
Zühlke has announced a new partnership with digital decarbonisation specialist GoCodeGreen. The alliance will see the firms work to bring software measurement and decarbonisation to Zühlke’s clients.
Software and the wider ICT industry currently accounts for more than 4% of the worlds emissions. With the world of business rapidly digitising, that figure is growing at over 9% a year – meaning ICT already accounts for a significantly larger carbon emissions level than aviation – which is 2% of the global average.
In this context, Zühlke is working with clients to help bring their ICT emissions in line with approaching net zero targets. Among those clients are organisations like HSBC and NHS England, among other financial services, government, and healthcare entities across the UK.
Linda Scott, a director at Zühlke, said, “Zühlke has a long track record of delivering efficiently and sustainably for clients, but now through our partnership with GoCodeGreen, we can show by how much. Sustainability in ICT is the next big issue and we have a responsibility to do our part to reduce the impact of technology.”
Founded in Switzerland in 1968, Zühlke is a partner-owned consultancy which specialises in strategy and business innovation, digital solutions and applications, and device and systems engineering. With 1,900 employees, the company hosts offices in Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Hong Kong, Portugal, Serbia, Singapore, Switzerland, Vietnam, and the UK.
GoCodeGreen meanwhile is a certified B Corp, and was founded in 2021. It offers a range of ICT carbon emission measurement and action solutions alongside Green IT training and support, counting a number of international banks and global energy companies amongst its clients.
Looking ahead, Zühlke and GoCodeGreen will work together to deliver lower carbon software outcomes for clients along with software measurement at scale to Zühlke’s clients.
Gareth Edwards, chief client officer at GoCodeGreen, added, “It’s businesses like Zühlke’s that will make the difference when it comes to delivering sustainably across both public and private sector. Partnering with Zühlke will help supercharge our efforts to decarbonise the world’s software, and help us industrialise our measurement capability. If you can’t measure it you can’t improve it.”
