Daniel Turner join's HKA's growing forensics team

Global risk and dispute resolution consultancy HKA has appointed a new partner to its forensics team. Daniel Turner arrives with more than two decades of professional services experience.

Colin Johnson, EMEA partner and forensic accounting and commercial damages (FACD) lead for HKA, said, “I am delighted to welcome Daniel Turner as our tenth partner in the practice. I look forward to working with Daniel and the rest of the team as we continue to further develop our service offering in commercial damages calculation, economic issues, investigations and other regulatory matters.”

HKA is an international consultancy specialising in risk mitigation, dispute resolution, expert witness and litigation support services. Its FACD practice helps corporate counsel, boards of directors, audit committees, compliance officers, and outside counsel navigate the financial complexity of alleged fraud, misappropriations, sanctions or other regulatory violations.

Turner has more than 20 years of experience in accounting, including 15 specialising in the provision of forensic accounting in commercial disputes and financial investigations. He is regularly appointed as an expert in the field of forensic accounting, providing expert input to matters including breaches of contract, transactional disputes, valuations, commercial transactions, professional negligence and loss of profit.

Speaking on his arrival, Amanda Clack – partner and regional CEO for HKA in the EMEA – added, “This is another fantastic new hire for the Partner team as our FACD practice in EMEA continues to forge ahead. As our capabilities and expertise within the FACD space grow, both in the EMEA region and globally, we have significantly expanded our service offering to clients. I am excited to see what this team of world-class experts can achieve in 2024 and beyond.”

Earlier work from Turner has covered matters in both the UK and many overseas locations, including Europe, the Middle East and Asia. In the eight-year period from 2012 to 2019, for example, he was based in the United Arab Emirates, providing forensic services in the majority of the countries in the GCC.

Turner arrives at HKA from the forensic team at Grant Thornton, where he was the head of international arbitration from 2020 to 2023. Prior to that, he was a managing director at FTI Consulting, and a director at PwC. He commenced his career with BDO in 2002.

Turner said of his latest challenge, “I am delighted to be joining the Forensic Accounting and Commercial Damages team at HKA at an exciting time in the firm’s growth story.
