David Yewdall and Ciaran McLaughlin join BDO as partners
Accounting and advisory firm BDO has invested in its audit practice, with two senior hires. David Yewdall and Ciaran McLaughlin will help strengthen its tax expertise, bringing 40 years of experience between them.

Ciaran McLaughlin joins BDO as an audit partner in the firm’s East Anglia region. He will work closely with audited entities across local public and government sectors from BDO’s Ipswich office.
McLaughlin has built up over 30 years of experience in public sector audit and assurance. Joining from Grant Thornton, where he spent seven years and was latterly a director, McLaughlin was previously also a director at PwC. He spent more than 22 years with the firm.
He said in a post on his personal LinkedIn which has since accrued more than 300 engagements, “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as partner at BDO UK, working in public sector audit and assurance!”
Yewdall will meanwhile be based in BDO’s London office, joining as partner in the firm’s expatriate tax and global employer services team. He has significant experience of working with businesses supporting them with global mobility management, domestic employee tax and employer compliance.
He also brings notable Big Four experience to BDO, having worked as an assistant tax advisor with EY, before stints as a senior director with KPMG, and director with PwC. Most recently, he spent four years with Evelyn Partners, where he was a partner.
Speaking on his LinkedIn, Yewdall also noted that he was “delighted” to start his new position. The post has received more than 200 likes and comments from colleagues and well-wishers.
