Cynozure has been named one of the fastest growing firms in London. Based in the city, the data science consultancy enjoyed growth of more than 122% over its last two financial years.

Founded by CEO Jason Foster in 2016, Cynozure is a digital technology and data analytics consultancy. With offices on either side of the Atlantic, the young firm has since enjoyed explosive growth, and was even named in the Sunday Times’ top 50 fastest- growing private companies in 2022.

2023 has seen the firm build on that momentum, with various ranking successes throughout the year. In October, Cynozure was named ‘Best Place to Work in Data’ as part of the 2023 DataIQ awards, as well as being a finalist for the ‘AI-Enabled Data Solution of the Year’ category.

Now, the firm has closed out the year with a further triumph: being named one of the fastest growing companies in London. Amid the fiercely competitive economy of the UK capital city, Cynozure was found to be the 14th quickest expanding private enterprise for the list compiled by Fast Growth 50.

Jason Foster, Founder and CEO at Cynozure commented, “In an age where data, analytics, and AI are shaping the future of business, we take great pride in guiding our customers through this challenging landscape and helping them to reach their full data potential. We are thrilled that this work drives our growth and led us to securing a spot among London's top 50 fastest-growing companies.”

Fast growth firms – which are normally defined as achieving 20% growth per annum – make up less than 1% of the UK business population but represent 50% of the total SME turnover output. Fast Growth 50 is an organisation which aims to celebrate the fastest of the fast, and to highlight their best practices for other organisations looking to boost their own performance. 2023 is the first time there has been a specific Fast Growth 50 list for London.

According to the researchers, collectively, the firms generated a turnover of £2.23 billion and employed nearly 11,000 people over the last year. However, it’s their ability to produce an additional £1.45 billion in turnover during the period from 2020 to 2022, at an average growth rate of 188%, that highlights their exceptional performance.

Amid a gold-rush relating to clients getting the most from AI, Cynozure’s specialisms in analytics and AI have seen it record an impressive two-year growth rate of almost 123%. The company works with its clients on data and AI strategy, data management, data architecture and engineering, analytics and AI, data culture and literacy, and change management and leadership.

Dylan Jones-Evans, founder of Fast Growth 50, added, “The UK Fast Growth 50 Index demonstrates that a small number of fast growth firms, such as Cynozure, make a substantial contribution to the UK’s economic landscape, providing real examples of how innovation, enterprise and sheer hard work can make a real difference in all sectors from construction to financial services to technology. Their incredible growth during difficult times shows that through generating wealth and jobs in their local communities, entrepreneurship is the cornerstone of regional and national prosperity.”
