Iridium has installed cyber security expert Dom Hardman as its new chief information security officer. He brings more than two decades of experience to the role.

Hardman commented, “Having worked with Iridium on the client side, I’m delighted to be sitting on the other side of the table to help the business extend its capability to deliver industry-leading security solutions. When I worked with Iridium previously, I was blown away by the team and its ability to deliver exceptional results and achieve transformational business outcomes. I can’t wait to collaborate with the business’s practice leads and work with our clients to understand their key challenges, deliver change, and help them take the next step on their cyber journeys.”

Iridium was founded by Elliot and Dainton in 2018, delivering bespoke IT solutions in partnership with leading consultants. The company now boasts an internal team of more than 20 staff, with seven specialist practices covering cloud solutions, quality assurance, cards and payments, software engineering, regulation and compliance, risk decisioning, and digital transformation.

Iridium appoints Dom Hardman as cyber security lead

As chief information security officer (CISO), Hardman will supplement the cyber consulting offering of Iridium. Reinforcing the cyber security practice, he will extend Iridium’s ability to assist clients in strengthening, reshaping and optimising their cyber security capabilities.

To do this, Hardman will draw on 25 years of experience across a broad range of companies, multiple industry sectors and international territories, and has worked for the likes of Capital One, Boots, N Brown Group, Provident Financial Group and Equifax. Most recently, this saw him work as CISO for TransUnion, where he was responsible for global information security and mergers and acquisition M&A programmes.

It was in this role that Hardman first crossed paths with Iridium. The firm delivered a range of consultancy services to TransUnion, working closely with him and his team, to successfully provide a full security transformation.

On Hardman's arrival at the firm, Sinclair Elliott, director and co-founder at Iridium, added, “Having worked closely with Dom to recently deliver a successful transformation, I can honestly say that he is the best in the business when it comes to security leadership. He has a reputation as a trusted board advisor and is renowned for his expert advice surrounding cyber security strategy and pre- and post-management of security breaches. Having worked with international businesses in moments of crisis, he brings the skills and ability to enable recovery and deliver security transformation across people, processes and technology. I’m excited to see the results that he, alongside our other practice leads, will deliver.”
