Alpha FMC has hired two senior directors to its wealth management team. Caroline Burkart and Basak Alhan Aydin join as the firm looks to grow its presence in the sector, amid heightened demand.

Head of UK Asset and Wealth Management Chris Kroeger commented, "The wealth sector is a strategic priority for Alpha FMC. The addition of Caroline and Basak speaks to our focus on the sector and forms part of our broader investments in the team. I am delighted to welcome them to the team and express my heartfelt thanks to Kenn for his enormous contribution over the past seven years.”

Headquartered in the UK and quoted on the AIM of the London Stock Exchange, Alpha FMC is a leading global provider of specialist consultancy services to the asset management, wealth management and insurance industries. The firm’s wealth franchise has experienced considerable growth in demand in the last three years in particular, but it is also going through a key period of change – as Kenn Taylor retires after seven years of heading the team.

Caroline Burkart and Basak Aydin, Alpha FMC

Caroline Burkart arrives as a director, with a reputation as an industry leader, and extensive experience in consulting and wealth management. Prior to joining Alpha, she worked as head of client insight for the UK and Europe at insurance consulting giant Aon. Her experience has centred around the client journey, the client and digital experience, segmentation, market entry and marketing strategies, brand health and thought leadership. Prior to joining Aon, Burkart was also an executive director at Scorpio Partnership, and spent time in industry with Credit Suisse.

Basak Alhan Aydin also joins Alpha as a director, arriving from Capgemini Invent, where she was the head of wealth management for the UK. In that role she helped global players on their transformation and innovation journeys, with a track record of delivering strategy, regulatory and digital transformation programmes across the change lifecycle and the value chain. She also spent time with Capgemini, Barclays and Accenture – after starting her career in financial services as a strategy consultant at Deutsche Boerse in Frankfurt.

In the months ahead, both appointments will help Jamie Forrester, as he takes interim leadership of the team – pending further hires for 2024.

Forrester commented, “Our UK wealth franchise is lucky to work with many of the UK’s top tier wealth managers and private banks. The addition of Caroline and Basak further strengthens the distribution and specialist delivery capability of the team; I am delighted to welcome two such talented and respected individuals into the Alpha family and am looking forward to working with them.”
