Slalom strengthens senior team with Rob Woodstock
Global consulting firm Slalom has strengthened its senior team in the UK with Rob Woodstock.
Appointed a Managing Director for Client Services, Rob Woodstock brings over 30 years of experience in consulting and public sector to the firm. He joins from the Cabinet Office, where he served as Chief Commercial Officer for six years.
On his career move, Woodstock said, “Slalom felt like a great fit right away; there was an instant feeling that my deeply held values dovetailed with its customer centric ethos; putting purpose and a fiercely-human led approach front and centre when driving outstanding business performance and capability growth.”
Headquartered in the US, Slalom is an international business and technology consultancy. The firm is one of the premier partners of large technology vendors including AWS, Salesforce, Google, Microsoft, and Tableau.
Established in London in 2014, with a further office launched in Manchester in 2019, Slalom has grown into one of the UK’s leading consulting firms. Around 500 of the firm’s 13,000-strong workforce is based in the UK.
“I’m hugely energised to be joining Slalom at such an exciting time when we’re seeing a boom in technology-led innovation, not least AI, truly changing the game for clients. It’s a pivotal time for the future of work, and I am passionate about the responsibility that the leaders of today – like myself – have to create environments where today’s talent can seize the emerging opportunities,” Woodstock said.
The move marks his return to consulting, having previously served Accenture for over two decades. Among the leadership roles he held were Managing Director in the Healthcare and Strategy & Operations practices, and leader of the Supply Chain practice.
During his time at Accenture, Woodstock led strategic projects with C-level clients of multinationals such as Cambridge Hospitals, Disney, HSBC, MTN, and Vodafone.
Now at Slalom, Woodstock will help the firm expand its market position in the UK market, with a focus on the financial services, government, and telecoms sectors.
“Rob will be an excellent addition to our team and we’re incredibly excited to have him on board,” said Todd Sink, General Manager of Slalom in London (the Manchester team is led by Caroline Grant). “Having worked as an in-house change leader and procurer of services, and as a consultant delivering services, he is in an excellent position to see things from both sides of the table, which will be invaluable for our clients.”
Internally, Woodstock will also play a role in Slalom’s continued diversity & inclusion endeavours – one of the key pillars of its employee value proposition. Woodstock was previously named one of the Top 100 BAME Leaders in the UK by The Times. BAME stands for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic, with recent research suggesting that BAME people hold under 5% of the country’s most senior positions.
“I’m on a mission to work with colleagues in a way that builds interesting careers, enables fulfilling lives and takes Slalom’s culture to the next level,” he concluded.
