Quantuma adds Craig Morrison as managing director in Edinburgh
Quantuma has bolstered its Scottish practice with the appointment of a new managing director. Based in Edinburgh, Craig Morrison will help the firm diversify its restructuring offering to clients across the region.
Carl Jackson, Quantuma’s CEO, said, “I am very pleased to welcome Craig to Quantuma as we launch our second Scottish office. Over the last year we have experienced high demand for our high quality, specialist advisory services and the opening of an office in Edinburgh is in direct response to the demand notably from businesses in and around the Edinburgh region.
In recent years, Scotland’s first city has seen one of the highest rates of house price growth of any location in the UK, alongside strong wage growth. This makes it one of the UK cities with most promising growth prospects, attracting talent and investment from across the country.
This has seen recruiting in Edinburgh become a priority for Quantuma, as it looks to focus on growth across Scotland. To that end, Jackson added that the firm will likely have “more announcements in the coming weeks and months, as we continue to strengthen our team to better serve Scottish businesses.”
Craig Morrison arrives at the restructuring firm having spent the last six months as an independent practitioner. Prior to that, he held a number of senior roles over a nine-year spell with FRP Advisory. He has also held senior roles in the restructuring and recovery division of mid-tier accounting and advisory firm RSM.
Morrison’s experience – which spans the best part of three decades – includes the undertaking of independent business reviews on behalf of a range of lenders, as well advisory engagements. He is primarily focused on formal corporate insolvency assignments across a wide variety of sectors. Most recently he was involved in the administrations of a large grain supplier and of a cinema group.
Speaking on his new challenge, Morrison added, “I am delighted to have joined Quantuma at an exciting point in its journey, as it looks to its next phase of growth which will be accelerated by the private equity investment received earlier in the year. I have been impressed at how the firm has simultaneously developed its service offering and footprint to become a leading advisory firm both in the UK and overseas.”
The appointment comes shortly after Quantuma also appointed a managing director in its Glasgow office. Alistair Dickson joined the consultancy’s other Scottish office, having spent more than three decades in the restructuring sector.
