CMap has announced a new head of consulting, as it looks to build bridges with professional services firms on both sides of the Atlantic. Fraser Moore brings more than three decades of experience to the role.

Founded in 2000, CMap is a Cheshire-headquartered software company, which helps professional services companies to win work and improve their delivery rates. CMap’s project management software tool unites customer relationship management, project management, and reporting into a single, easy-to-use platform.

Now leading the firm’s consulting portfolio is Fraser Moore, who brings close to 30 years of experience from within the consulting industry to CMap.

Most recently, Fraser was an executive at State of Matter, an Australian management consultancy (part of Cordence Worldwide). Earlier in his career, he worked for Burnt Oak Partners and sourcing advisory EquaTerra (acquired by KPMG in 2011), among others.

“Brilliant to have Fraser on board with us at CMap. A serial CMap user, with over 30 years of leadership experience in consulting firms, Fraser's perspective will help us hone our proposition for the consulting market and make our clients more successful,” said CMap’s Chief Revenue Officer John Stead.

Moore has a longstanding relationship with CMap, having himself been one of the firm’s first ever CMap consulting clients, and a client-side voice in its early design. This included helping implement CMap for the first time at Morgan Chambers, to provide a centralised, integrated operational platform, and also at an early stage at State of Matter, which helped the firm to establish its core processes and allowed it to forecast and measure its performance across key metrics.

This means he is uniquely qualified to help CMap’s future clients get the most out of its industry-leading software, now that he finds himself on the other side of things, having been “a happy customer for the last 15 years”.

By helping CMap’s clients to leverage the power of technology in an optimised way, he hopes to help them “take a huge step in achieving their own strategic ambitions.”

Professional services automation (PSA) solutions such as CMap help consulting firms to manage their client engagements and operations throughout the project lifecycle – saving them both time and money in the process. As the professional services market encounters a squeeze which is seeing many of its top names look for ways to cut costs, the PSA market is subsequently growing rapidly.

Looking ahead in that context, Moore said that he was “excited for the growth potential of CMap in the consulting sector”.

“Having just launched CMap into the US market [via a second office in Orlando], we’re confident we can quickly gain traction and expand our client based exponentially in both the UK and US over the next couple of years. Beyond that… we do know from our international clients who have operations across countries outside of the UK that there is scope for further massive growth potential to support boutique consulting firms all around the world. It’s very exciting to be part of that growth journey in a sector that will continue reshape itself in the years to come.”
