Wealth and investment advisory Isio has further moved to strengthen its pensions offering, hiring appointed Kyalo Burt-Fulcher as a senior manager. He arrives with more than a decade of actuarial and consulting experience at his command.

Isio began life as an independent firm larger than most, boasting more than 1,000 clients, ranging from mid-sized companies to FTSE 100s. Since it’s Exponent-backed separation, from KPMG, though, it has sought to rapidly build on this early momentum.

The Isio team now consists of more than 800 people across nine regional hubs, counting household names such as Fujitsu, Serco, and Scottish Leather Group among its growing portfolio.

This growth has been accelerated by a continued merger and acquisition campaign. Most recently, this saw Isio purchase the 200-strong pensions advisory business of Deloitte; a move which created one of the largest pensions advisory businesses in the UK – with annual revenues of around £140 million, and 1,000 employees across its nine existing locations around the UK.

Now, Isio has continued to bolster its pensions offering, with another arrival from Deloitte. His recent engagements with Deloitte have mostly taken place in the due diligence space. Projects in 2022 included pensions diligence for the prospective purchaser of a large IT services provider with UK funding liabilities of $12 billion, and pensions and HR diligence on the estimated $8 billion acquisition of a European consumer goods manufacturer by a large US private equity house.

Prior to that, he also previously enjoyed a two-year spell as a consultant with actuarial giant WTW. Burt-Fulcher will now continue his work as a senior manager at Isio, after the deal for Deloitte Total Reward and Benefits was finalised at the end of May 2023.

Speaking on his new challenge with Isio, Burt-Fulcher said via a LinkedIn post, “All good things must eventually come to an end. After eight-and-a-half good years at Deloitte, our pensions team is today transferring to Isio. It is very sad to leave some of our former colleagues, but, having met my new ones, I am more excited about the future than ever!”
