Matthew Layton Joins FTI Consulting as Senior Advisor

FTI Consulting has appointed a new Senior Advisor for its Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Matthew Layton joins, bringing four decades of experience as a business leader to the firm.

Layton spent the last 40 years as a legal practitioner and business leader at Clifford Chance, where he served as Global Managing Partner between 2014 and 2022. In that role, he led the firm’s strategic direction and was instrumental in driving a series of growth initiatives to expand the firm’s client offerings. He also previously served as Global Head of Clifford Chance’s Corporate practice from 2008 to 2013, as well as its London Corporate Finance and M&A practice. He became a partner at Clifford Chance in 1991.

The news follows another senior appointment at FTI at the start of 2023. The technology wing of the company appointed Sam Davies as a Managing Director in January, arriving following a five-year spell driving blockchain solutions for a Big Four consultancy.
