Rachel Stace named Director in Grant Thornton private tax wing
Leading business and financial advisory firm Grant Thornton UK has promoted Rachel Stace to Director of Private Tax. Based in the firm’s Oxford office, she has spent more than 10 years at Grant Thornton.
Richard Marsh, Private Tax Partner at Grant Thornton UK, commented, “Rachel brings with her a breadth of experience, having worked at the firm for a decade. She is a trusted and knowledgeable professional who is well versed in complex matters within tax, making her a valuable asset to the team. Rachel’s progress with the firm also pays testament to our flexible culture at Grant Thornton where she has progressed with her career whilst balancing her work and family life; we are thrilled to see her promoted to Director.”
Stace arrived at Grant Thornton in 2012, as an executive within the firm’s private client advisory team in Oxford. In the years since, this has seen her work with Grant Thornton’s team through its evolution, becoming a specialist private advisory business, which now focusses on complex international and ultra-high net worth clients.
Noting that she is “incredibly proud to have been part of that journey and of the quality of the services we have developed”, Stace said she was now anticipating that her first year in role as Director “will be a busy one”. Clients are looking for increasing support to change within uncertain markets, while still managing issues such as succession and growth objectives – especially before a potential general election in 2024 brings “greater uncertainty to the tax landscape.”
Stace added, “I’m really excited to work with Richard in accelerating the growth of our private tax business. Our goals are to build and grow over the next 12 months to further strengthen our team and the client services offering.”
In her new role, Stace will support Tax Partner Richard Marsh, and focus on developing Grant Thornton’s well-established offering to ultra-high net worth individuals and entrepreneurs. She and her team will act as the main point of coordination for Grant Thornton’s work with wealthy individuals, their businesses and their families, most of these being entrepreneurial in nature or large family-run organisations.
