Isio promotes trio of new partners

06 October 2022 Consultancy.uk

Professional services firm Isio has announced the promotion of three new partners. Richard Birkin, Andrew Craig and Calum Brunton Smith take on the roles as Isio looks to enhance its advisory offering.

Commenting on the news, Andrew Coles, Isio CEO said, “Isio has grown rapidly since launch in 2020 and these individuals have played a hugely important role in our development. Delivering high quality work for clients, exploring new opportunities to grow our business and demonstrating exceptional leadership qualities, these promotions reflect the extensive talent and expertise of our team.”

Richard Birkin is a former Big Four stalwart, having spent 20 years with KPMG. Latterly, he was a Director in the firm’s pensions wing. When that pensions practice was sold off to create Isio, he stayed with the firm. He now leads the company’s Defined Contribution (DC) consultancy team, and has recently taken on a new role heading up the Birmingham office.

Andrew Craig similarly spend 19 years with KPMG before shifting across to Isio in 2020. Based in the Bristol office, he now works to drive the organisation’s new reward and benefits offering, supporting employee benefits and financial wellbeing with platforms, coaching and consultancy. Before joining KPMG, he also spent extended spells with Pre-emptive Financial Management, and Prudential UK, honing his pension consulting skillset.

Calum Brunton Smith brings more than 15 years of investment consulting experience to Isio’s partnership. Having initially spent three years with Mercer, he spent a decade with KPMG’s investment consulting team, before joining Isio at its launch. Now operating in the firm’s Glasgow office, Brunton Smith has played a key role in growth of Isio’s investment advisory business, notably in Scotland.

Speaking on his promotion in a LinkedIn post that has since garnered over 400 interactions, Brunton Smith said, “Delighted and proud to step up to Partner at Isio this year alongside Andy and Richard. Sincere thanks for all the support from the outstanding team at Isio and to all the fantastic clients I’m lucky enough to work with.”
