Specialist infrastructure communications consultancy Copper Consultancy has formed a new partnership with global environmental solutions business RSK. The deal will enable Copper Consultancy to access new markets, while adding new capacities for dealing with clients across the UK.

Founded in 1994, Copper Consultancy is dedicated to delivering strategic communications to support clients in the development of economic and social infrastructure – including numerous multinational companies and international investors seeking to invest in infrastructure in the UK. Since its launch, the firm has expanded beyond its headquarters in London to add offices in Birmingham and Bristol, and take its headcount past 55 employees.

As the advisory firm looks to take its operations to the next level, Copper has chosen to join the RSK Group. As part of the agreement, Copper will retain its brand, clients and management team, while collaborating with RSK Creative – a design and technical writing specialist business within the RSK group.

Copper’s Managing Partners, Martin McCrink and Ben Heatley, noted, “Copper is ambitious for the future. This relationship creates a platform for us to achieve those ambitions, allowing us to reach clients, markets and geographies that we couldn’t access on our own. We are excited to be able to support RSK with its ambitions to grow in the UK and around the world.”

As the UK faces unprecedented challenges around net zero and the cost of living crisis, organisations are looking for ways to modernise, boost productivity and enhance sustainability. Working closely with RSK, Heatley and McCrink believe Copper has an opportunity to “broaden the solutions we offer to clients and help them overcome the challenges they will face.”

RSK was established in 1989, and has since expanded to a group of more than 175 companies, employing 10,000 people, delivering end-to-end solutions to clients across the construction sector – with recent acquisitions including construction firm CS2. With its head office in Helsby, Cheshire, RSK employs over 6,000 specialists worldwide and is known for providing practical solutions to global challenges.

Together with RSK’s corporate communications team, RSK now has a network of more than 150 communications experts covering strategy, marketing, data, planning support, construction, corporate, crisis, social, design and creative services. Collaborating with Copper enables both firms to help clients navigate key challenges with a more complete range of services, while reaching new geographical markets and industry sectors.

RSK Group CEO Alan Ryder said of the news, “Copper’s infrastructure communications skills are an excellent addition to our Group, naturally complementing our enduring focus on engineering and environmental solutions and enhancing our client service. This solutions-based approach is now more important than ever. As we face global challenges, changing how we live, our wish is to consult and explain these changes in a way which raises public awareness and understanding to ensure everyone can participate in this transition in a meaningful way.”
