Navigant adds Baldrige performance excellence experts
Navigant has picked up Kate Goonan and several experienced Baldrige framework professionals from Goonan Performance Strategies. Goonan takes on the role of Managing Director, working in Navigant’s healthcare performance improvement practice. The new capabilities brought over from Goonan Performance Strategies will be leveraged by Navigant to support transformations of healthcare providers faced with a fast moving healthcare market.
Prior to joining Navigant, Kate Goonan, and a team of professional leadership coaching and change management consulting, worked at Goonan Performance Strategies. Goonan Performance Strategies formed in 2011, and has since become a player in the US providing the healthcare industry with expertise in the Baldrige framework. The Baldrige framework is a set of criteria that take a holistic systems-based approach in viewing an organisation’s performance management system across seven categories. The system was developed in the 1980s and has helped thousands of US businesses become highly competitive.
Before launching her own practice, Goonan has held a variety of profession roles, previous roles include being the Executive Director of the MGH Centre for Performance Excellence, a role she held for eight years; Senior Vice-President at the Institute for Healthcare Improvement; and of Senior Vice-President of Health Affairs at BCBSMA. Goonan holds an M.D., Medicine from the University of California, Davis. Goonan has also held a number of advisory positions, including the Board of Directors of the American Society for Quality, as well as being a Judge on the AHA McKesson Quest for Quality Award.
Goonan has been appointed to the role of Managing Director at Navigant, and will leverage her more than 25 years of experience supporting senior healthcare leaders achieve organisational performance excellence. She will bring with her a team of Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence experts from Goonan Performance Strategies. In their new role, Goonan and her team will enhance the capabilities of Navigant’s healthcare performance improvement practice with expertise in the Baldrige framework. The bolstered practice will leverage the new talent to deliver leadership and cultural transformation expertise to healthcare provider senior executives as they lead their organisations in the face of significant industry change.
