As sustainability takes centre stage on all fronts of business, James Holley has joined KPMG’s deal advisory practice as a Partner. He will support the firm with expanding its ESG offering to private equity clients, as KPMG builds its capabilities in the area.

James Holley commented, “I’m delighted to be returning to KPMG to lead our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Transaction Services team. ESG is not only influencing business strategies and investment decisions, but it is also becoming increasingly integral to unlocking business and societal value, and I’m looking forward to utilising my practical experiences to help our clients navigate this rapidly evolving agenda.”

KPMG’s Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) enables business to realise their strategic goals through M&A, working early in the transaction with our clients, bringing the right breadth of advice to any given deal. The firm’s integrated team of specialists helps clients focus on the key questions during the critical stages of planning and executing a deal, creating and enhancing value. ESG matters have become an increasingly important factor for investors in recent years.

He re-joins the firm after working with international quoted private equity and alternative asset management group, Bridgepoint, where he was Head of ESG. Nicola Longfield, Partner and Head of TAS at KPMG UK, noted, “James’ extensive experience, network and expertise will be a great asset to our clients and our firm, and we’re delighted to welcome him back to KPMG. We’re committed to recruiting, retaining and building the best talent, and James is a great senior addition to our growing team. As our clients look to embed ESG in their investment decisions, I’m confident that we’re well placed to help them to achieve their ambitions.”
