Elixirr consultants cycle to Lapland for ITV Text Santa

The Elixirr Foundation, and the firm’s participating staff, are supporting this year’s edition of ITV Text Santa. Elixirr consultants will cycle the distance from London to Lapland in shifts, with the money raised from their charitable cycle going to this year’s Santa nominated charities of Macmillan Cancer Support, Make-A-Wish and Save the Children.

The Elixirr Foundation was formed by Elixirr, a London-based consulting firm, in March 2014 to support charities along three key pillars: Education, Entrepreneurship and Technology. The firm further takes a local approach to offering charity support, thereby seeking to enrich the quality of life of the communities in which the firm operates, by providing time, financial support and pro-bono services. This may include strategic advice for not-for-profit organisations, volunteer days* as well as fundraising events. The firm aims to provide their resources in terms of donations and expertise, but also with the intent of empowering the organisation for whom they work.

The consultancy has so far provided support to several charity organisations, including Save the Children, SHINE and CGIAR. The firm, for instance, helped Save the Children improve their core competencies by introducing a more cost effective and functioning approach to managing its international operations, allowing the charity to deliver their services to children in a sustainable manner. In the case of CGIAR, Elixirr consultants worked with the client to develop a compelling case to invest in shared services (both in terms of performance and financial benefits) as part of CGIAR’s wider goal to boost transparency and accountability for its $1 billion per year operating budget.

Other recently conducted pro bono engagements include providing mentoring support to underprivileged school and university students in South Africa, providing support at a homeless shelter and helping young entrepreneurs through mentoring and careers workshops.

ITV Text Santa
As part of the Foundation’s work, Elixirr has decided to support ITV Text Santa, an annual charity initiative set up in 2011 by ITV to support UK-based charities during the Christmas period. Now in its fifth year, ITV Text Santa has so far raised over £21 million for 20+ charities. Funds are received through a number of channels, including people texting in donations, a 24-hour live broadcast, merchandising, as well as third party sponsors and fundraising activities by organisations

Participating consultants from Elixirr will cycle the distance from London to Lapland, in shifts over 12 hours – between 8am - 8pm on 16th December. Money raised from donations by those taking part in the journey will go to the Macmillan Cancer Support, Make-A-Wish UK and Save the Children – this year’s selected charities by ITV. So far Elixirr has raised around £1,700 of the £5,000 target.
