Consultancy Quantuma has appointed a new Managing Director in its South-West and Wales region. Tim Sloggett joins the firm with over 20 years of experience in restructuring businesses, having spent most of his career at the Big Four firms.

With the UK Government having withdrawn pandemic support measures that had previously kept many firms afloat during the crisis, the need for restructuring consultants is expected to further mount in the coming months. As it looks to respond to growing demand, Quantuma has expanded its headcount by 45% in the last year, and now boasts a team of more than 270 professionals.

The latest recruit to join the firm’s expanding roster is Tim Sloggett, who arrives to strengthen the firm’s offering in the South-West of the UK. Bringing more than two decades of experience to the firm, the new Managing Director specialises in helping businesses that are underperforming or facing a cash flow crisis. He will do this for Quantuma across a range of sectors, and from local owner-managed businesses to large international corporates.

Carl Jackson, CEO at Quantuma, said, “Tim is a fantastic addition to our South Westand Wales team. As we continue our growth journey at Quantuma, our regional offices are recruiting fast to meet ever-growing demand for business advisory services across the UK. We are delighted to have appointed someone of Tim’s calibre to help grow our team and deliver high quality advisory services to businesses across the region.”

Sloggett has spent most of his career working in Big Four firms. A four-year spell with Deloitte, where he was latterly Assistant Director Restructuring Services, was followed by a stint as Director at KPMG. As well as five years at Barclays Bank in its turnaround and restructuring team, he most recently worked with Smith & Williamson, where he was a Partner.

Speaking on his new role, Sloggett stated, “This is a really exciting time to be joining Quantuma, helping it to continue the impressive growth journey and expand its capabilities. It is inevitable that businesses are going to need vital support in the coming months and years as they face unprecedent challenges from the pandemic and Brexit. Quantuma provides me with a great platform to bring my passion and experience to support businesses in the region to get through these challenges.”

The move comes as Louise Durkan, Head of the firm’s national financial advisory team, also takes over to lead Quantuma in the South-West and Wales region. She previously worked with Sloggett at Deloitte, and the pair join forces again to bring together their complimentary skills and ambitions to deliver the best solutions for clients. Durkan’s promotion follows the retirement of outgoing leader, Graham Randall.
