Jonathan Rowan has been appointed as a Partner with BDO. He brings more than two decades of technology and media experience to the firm’s due diligence offering.

Commenting on his arrival at BDO, Rowan reflected, “BDO is a market leader in advising high-growth, entrepreneurially spirited businesses and I am delighted to have the opportunity to support these ambitious clients to help them succeed.”

Despite the uncertainty and disruption brought on by the pandemic, the M&A market has proved incredibly resilient over the last year. It has returned to pre-pandemic levels relatively quickly in terms of deal volume, while value has boomed even further. In this context, as private equity houses continue to show an appetite for investment, particularly in the technology sector where many firms have capitalised on problems arising from the Covid-19 lockdowns.

BDO has been working consistently to recruit over this year, looking to keep pace with demand across multiple sectors. Since January, BDO has appointed 23 external and 46 internal individuals as partner. As due diligence in the technology, media and telecoms (TMT) sector will remain a clear focus area, Rowan’s arrival helps strengthen its offering in that space.

Based in London, the new M&A Partner will now lead BDO’s commercial due diligence offering in the TMT sector. He will also utilise his experience of working with private equity backed businesses and support transactions on both buy and sell side.

Drawing on more than 20 years of experience working in the industry, Rowan has worked across various areas of M&A including strategy and consulting. Most recently this saw him hold a senior role with technology firm Neos Networks.

Paul Eagland, Managing Partner at BDO, remarked, “Jonathan’s appointment further demonstrates our commitment to growing the expertise of our business. His experience of working both within professional services and within the technology sector gives him a deep understanding of the issues our clients are facing. His knowledge and expertise are a welcome addition to BDO’s growing advisory practice.”
