Protiviti adds three experienced consultants to US team
Protiviti, a global consulting firm that specializes in Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) advisory, has over the past months strengthened its U.S. practice with the addition of three experienced consultants. Steve Altier has joined the Minneapolis office, Peter Firestone will be based in Los Angeles and Seth Twery has joined the Charlotte office.
Steve Altier has joined the Minneapolis office as a managing director focused on financial services in the firm's Internal Audit and Financial Advisory practice. Altier has 18 years of professional experience and is an expert in public company SOX compliance, Investment Company (1940 Act) asset management compliance and SEC registered broker dealer compliance. He also has significant experience in providing business advisory services, including those related to navigating initial public offerings. Prior to joining Protiviti, Altier was a partner at a Big Four firm, where he managed internal and external audits in the financial services industry. Altier earned a bachelor of science degree in business from the University of Minnesota. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Minnesota Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Peter Firestone has joined the consulting firm as a managing director in Los Angeles. Firestone leads Protiviti's west region Business Performance Improvement (BPI) practice. Firestone has more than 25 years of management consulting experience serving clients in the technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences industries. He has led numerous business performance improvement programs, including those focused on finance transformation, shared services, post-merger integration, customer/channel strategy and digital business. Prior to joining Protiviti, Firestone was a managing director at Accenture in its Finance & Enterprise Performance practice. Prior to Accenture, Firestone was a partner at Deloitte Consulting.
Seth Twery has joined the Charlotte office as a managing director. His focus is on providing technology-enabled risk and compliance solutions for clients in the financial services industry. Twery has 30 years of experience working with banks and consumer lending organizations, including designing and applying innovative technology solutions across operations, governance, risk and compliance, and anti-money laundering (AML). Prior to joining Protiviti, Twery spent 18 years with IBM, including 12 years as their North American risk and compliance leader. His professional accomplishments include leading the design, development and rollout of more than 20 fraud and operational risk solutions, assisting financial services firms in the transformation of financial crime operations, and leading AML systems integration projects for more than 50 financial institutions.
In addition to IBM, Twery was a senior manager at a Big Four firm where he worked on credit card technology and strategic systems planning for national retailers and banks. Prior to that, he was a principal with the boutique payments consulting firm Carmody and Company. He has a bachelor of science in mathematics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
