Tom Barnard joins GCA Altium’s leisure and consumer team

Global corporate finance house GCA Altium has strengthened its London team with Tom Barnard. 

Appointed a Director, Tom Barnard joins GCA Altium leisure and consumer team, bringing more than a decade of experience in mergers & acquisitions to the firm. “I’m pleased to be joining GCA Altium which, as a firm, has a one of the strongest reputations for its dealmaking ability on a global and UK scale.” 

Barnard crosses from BDO, where he spent twelve years in its Corporate Finance practice, including two secondments; one at BDO in Australia (five months) and one at venture capital firm LDC (18 months). “Following fantastic years at BDO, I’m looking forward to connecting with colleagues and supporting the consumer rebound.”

In his role as Director at GCA Altium, Barnard will work directly with Managing Director and London office head Sam Fuller and the wider GCA Altium team on delivering M&A deals to clients in the leisure and consumer sector. 

During his career, Barnard has contributed to over a dozen transactions in the space, with a specialist focus on the restaurant & bar and travel spaces. His track record includes working with the likes of KFC, and supporting the sale of HolidayTaxis to HotelBeds, Laine Pub Company to Punch, Cruise.co to Bridgepoint Development Capital and supporting Duke Street on their investment in Team Sport.

Earlier this year, he supported the minority investment in LeMieux, a well-known equestrian brand.
