Gavin Neilson made Global Head of Financial Services at PA Consulting
PA Consulting has named Gavin Neilson as its Global Head of Financial Services. He succeeds David Troman in the role, who stands down having spent three decades with the consultancy.
Gavin Neilson commented on his promotion, “The sector continues to experience tremendous change, which brings a myriad of opportunities for growth and transformation. I look forward to bringing together PA’s diverse capabilities to help shape a positive human future for our financial services clients. I feel honoured to be leading PA’s financial services team taking over from David’s impressive legacy.”
Joining PA Consulting in 1991, David Troman has led the Financial Services team at PA for more than 10 years. Speaking on his time at the top, PA CEO Ken Toombs noted the important challenges Troman has helped the firm face over the years.
“His work helping clients navigate the challenges of digital and regulatory disruption and external shocks such as the financial crisis and global pandemic has been invaluable,” Toombs stated. “And his leadership has cemented PA’s reputation as an industry leader.”
Taking on the role as Global Head of Financial Services, Gavin Neilson started his PA career in 1998, initially joining as a Business Transformation Consultant. He worked across multiple sectors and geographies including the UK and Hong Kong, before moving to a series of Director roles in technology, change and operations with Lloyds Banking Group and Standard Life. He re-joined PA in 2012, returning as a Partner to lead the firm’s banking team.
In that role he focused on digital and agile transformation as well as financial crime and fraud prevention, working with a portfolio of clients. This has seen Neilson become influential in driving forward PA’s capabilities in the sector, supporting global clients to transform their organisations, maintain customer trust, and reduce complexity. In his new role, he will head PA’s financial services team across the UK, Europe and the US.
Toombs said of PA’s new Head of Financial Services, “I have had the pleasure of working with Gavin since I joined the firm. He is an inspiring leader, highly valued by clients and possesses all the attributes necessary to drive the continued success of PA’s global financial services business.”
PA is an innovation and transformation consultancy of over 3,300 specialists in consumer and manufacturing, defence and security, energy and utilities, financial services, government, health and life sciences, and transport. The firm booked a record financial performance in 2020, growing its revenues with double-digits despite the Covid-19-induced downturn.
