BJSS becomes AWS migration competency partner
Consulting firm BJSS has joined the AWS Migration Competency Partner programme. Partners like BJSS ensure that companies at whatever stage of their cloud adoption journey are able to take full advantage of the cloud computing platform has to offer.
Mohamed Zamzam, Cloud Migrations and Services Lead at BJSS, commented, “Since its beginning, BJSS has built up its expertise and knowledge from transforming and modernising large-scale enterprise applications. We were early adopters of AWS and have helped public sector clients such as NHS Digital and the DVSA to migrate, modernise and digitise the services they offer to citizens.”
Amazon Web Services is a subsidiary of Amazon which provides on-demand cloud computing platforms and APIs to individuals, companies, and governments, on a metered pay-as-you-go basis. The platform enables clients to grow AWS public sector businesses through alignment with its public sector sales, marketing, funding, capture, and proposal teams.
As organisations across the public and private sector are looking to accelerate their cloud migration programmes to become more efficient and agile in the digital age, the AWS Competency Programme recognises AWS Partners who demonstrate and maintain technical proficiency, and proven customer success in specialised solution areas, including cloud migrations. BJSS’s recognition as a Migration Competency Partner validates its experience and knowledge of migrating complex workloads to AWS.
Pointing to one recent example of such work, Zamzam noted that BJSS had helped private sector clients such as Goal Group to migrate to AWS. According to him, the firm went ‘all in’ on AWS, closing down its old data centre just as the pandemic was taking hold, and affecting market conditions. By migrating to the cloud, Goal Group was able to transition to a remote working model during the lockdowns, which wouldn’t have been possible on its legacy data centre.
Commenting on Goal Group’s recent migration to AWS, Stephen Everard, CEO at Goal Group, reflected, “This migration was an integral and essential step in the evolution of our technology to support our growth strategy, including developing new products to facilitate entry into new markets. It simply would not have been possible to execute this strategy without our partners at BJSS.”
Elsewhere, consultancies Deloitte, Accenture, PA Consulting and Cognizant were among the winners of the 2021 AWS Global Public Sector Partner Awards. The firms picked up prizes for their work helping public sector entities digitalise amid the global pandemic.
