Analysys Mason has been awarded a 2021 Queen's Awards for Enterprise for International Trade. The firm picked up the prize on the basis of its short-term growth in overseas sales over the last three years.

According to Bram Moerman, Executive Vice Chair at Analysys Mason, the firm’s recognition follows a rigorous review of its vision and objectives for the future, and reflects its renewed commitment to corporate social responsibility and the environment. Above all, however, he added that it underlines the company’s long-term commitment to the technology, media, and telecom (TMT) sector.

Moerman added, “This award recognises the outstanding achievements of all our employees across the world in enabling our clients to achieve their goals, as well as our alumni who came before them and helped make Analysys Mason the pre-eminent global management consultancy focused on TMT.”

Based in London, Analysys Mason was formed from the merger of Analysys Ltd and Mason Communications in 2004. Following the liberalisation at the end of the 20th century, its expertise was soon highly sought after leading to significant growth overseas. Today the firm has grown from its original London base to hold 15 other offices around the world, employing 350 staff, while also expanding its international sales with a number of acquisitions.

As well as its most recent acquisition in Germany, the last three years have seen the firm’s overseas sales boom by 50% with the percentage exported rising from 80% to 83%; as it has acquired companies in the US, Norway, and Sweden. Meanwhile, the acquisition of AMI Partners in New York expanded their Research capability in the ICT sector. On the back of this, Analysys Mason picked up its Queen's Awards for Enterprise for International Trade prize for Outstanding Short Term Growth in overseas sales over the last three years

The Queen's Awards for Enterprise, now in their 55th year, are one of the most prestigious business awards in the UK. Announced annually on Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday, the ceremony has been operating in various forms since 1966, with the UK head of state handing out prizes to top businesses on the advice of the incumbent Prime Minister, who is assisted by an Advisory Committee that includes representatives of Government, industry and commerce, and the trade unions.

Categories span industries from construction and agriculture to vehicles and software, with winning businesses able to use the esteemed Queen's Awards emblem for the next five years. Previous international trade category winners have often boosted their overseas sales thanks to the recognition.

The awards also often recognise members of the consulting industry. Previous winners from the professional services sector include Source Global Research in 2016, Boyd Consultants, DCA Design International, Mason Advisory, Specialist Marine Consultants and Grant Thornton in 2018, and Q5 in 2019.
