Tom Morrison has been named as the new Strategy Director of Copper Consultancy’s  Northern England wing. The news comes as the firm announces a string of internal promotions.

Morrison said of his arrival, “I am thrilled to be joining Copper and look forward to expanding our existing suite of projects in the north. Economic recovery from Covid-19 must be focused on strengthening infrastructure and levelling up the north – and I am looking forward to supporting Copper’s clients in making this case at all levels of government.”

Prior to joining Copper Consultancy, Morrison has enjoyed a varied career in research, communications, and local politics. This included four years as a City Councillor for the Liberal Democrats for Church Ward in Liverpool, before working as an Account Director with Remarkable Engagement. Most recently, he was an Associate Director with Built Environment Communications Group, based in Manchester. Bringing significant experience of working within the infrastructure, development and utilities sectors, Morrison will now lead Copper’s expansion and work supporting major projects across the North of England.

Founded 25 year ago, Copper Consultancy is dedicated to delivering strategic communications to support clients in the development of economic and social infrastructure – including numerous multinational companies and international investors seeking to invest in infrastructure in the UK. Despite the effects of the coronavirus on the UK economy, the firm managed to boost its income by around 30% over 2020, while also bumping up its number of staff by a similar margin.

Its latest senior hire has been made possible as a result of successful growth in the first half of 2021. It also follows the news that Copper Consultancy has promoted a number of staff internally. These include Allan Fatah and Tom Warren moving to Account Directors and Laura Cunliffe-Hall, Lucia Maclachlan and Zak Reid being appointed as Senior Account Managers.

Copper’s Managing Partner Ben Heatley stated, “The strategic appointments and promotions we have made will further strengthen our senior team. Our strong talent pool will be pivotal when it comes to helping clients to achieve their objectives and manage risks they face and contributing to Copper’s continued success. They have been made possible thanks to an extremely successful year so far, with continued growth across the whole business, including the launch of our dedicated creative services and branding offering.”
