The firm’s latest office will be based in the Grade II-listed The Corner in the heart of Newcastle, as part of ambitious plans to expand Mazars’ team, and attract talent from the city’s vibrant business community. According to a release from the firm, the location provides a “bright, spacious and flexible working environment,” enabling Mazars to configure the space specifically for its team and clients.
Mazars’ Newcastle office will be led by Managing Partner, Cameron Waddell. He noted that as the national and local economies look to bounce back from the coronavirus crisis of the last year, the launch of the new hub underscores the firm’s confidence in the continued growth of region.
Waddell added, “Our team has gone from strength to strength in recent years and, throughout the current challenging and uncertain period, has continued to deliver for clients, win new business, and seamlessly adapt to new ways of working.”
Historically, Newcastle's economy was dependent on its port. Today, however, the city's economy is diverse with major economic output in science, finance, retail, education, tourism, and nightlife. The city is one of the UK Core Cities, as well as part of the Eurocities network.
In the North East, Mazars is the leading auditors to the public sector, while it also advises clients across a range of markets and sectors. The firm is actively seeking to grow, with several current vacancies for part-qualified and qualified auditors and accountants to join its team, as well as business consultants.
