KPMG Scotland promotes Colin Boyd and Martin Douglas

In Scotland, KPMG has promoted two of its senior managers to director level: Colin Boyd and Martin Douglas. 

Their promotion is part of a wider intake of 53 promotions across the firm’s divisions and senior ranks (assistant manager to director appointments). “The promotions reflect our recent return to growth,” said KPMG regional chair in Scotland Catherine Burnet. “As restrictions continue to ease and businesses open back up, we should start to see a significant uptick in wider business activity.” 

Colin Boyd has been with KPMG for eleven years. He is part of the firm’s Deal Advisory practice, helping clients with buy and sell side financial due diligence, financial reporting accountants work, public bid services and vendor assistance.

His experience includes transaction experience for owner managed businesses and international corporates with transaction values ranging from small and mid-market deals to those in excess of £1 billion.

As part of the promotion Boyd (a Chartered accountant by background) will continue his focus on the industrials sector in Scotland and across the UK, working as part of KPMG’s national Industrials deals team across corporates, private equity and owner managed clients.

Martin Douglas has been with the Big Four professional services firm for over five years, having previously worked as a consultant at a boutique firm, and as an internal consultant / business analyst in industry.

He works with clients to identify, develop and deliver change initiatives to increase profitability, realise operational efficiencies and enhance customer experience.

In his new director role, he is one of the senior’s in KPMG’s Operational Transformation practice with a focus on the financial services industry. Notable recent engagements include supporting a bank with a target operating model design and implementation, as well as digital transformation, and helping another banking client with professionalising its customer due diligence function.

In Scotland, KPMG has around 1,000 staff working from offices in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
