Alpha launches diversity and inclusion programmes
Alpha FMC has, in partnership with the 30% Club, Stonewall and SEO London, launched three distinct programmes: ‘Women in Alpha’, ‘Pride in Alpha’ and ‘Cultural Diversity in Alpha’ to improve diversity and inclusion in its own ranks as well as those within corporates.
Alpha FMC is an asset management consultancy, with expertise and capabilities in strategy & advisory, evaluation & selection, implementation & execution, and benchmarking. The firm specialises in, among others, M&A integration, digital & marketing, client service & reporting, operations & outsourcing and regulatory. Alpha was founded in 2003 and has office in five major financial centres: London, New York, Paris, The Hague and Luxembourg.
To formalise its long-standing commitment to diversity within its ranks, the consulting firm is presenting three distinct diversity programmes. To launch the programmes, Alpha is joining hands with three partners: the 30% Club, which aims to improve business performance through diversifying the board level; Stonewall, a LGBT focused charity that supports individuals to work out how they can make a difference for LGBT people at work, home and in their communities; and SEO London, a charity that supports young and under-represented people maximise their opportunities for university and career success.
For each programme, aimed to support different groups to join and flourish in the firm’s ranks, Alpha will provide mentors from its senior team, as well as develop best practice guidelines from each of its partners to provide employer/employee training. The programmes are as follows:
- Women in Alpha involves the development of a programme that is focused on improving the proportion of women in executive roles in leading corporations and will be led by Olivia Vinden through partnership with the 30% Club.
- Pride in Alpha will be the firm’s flagship LGBT programme in partnership with Stonewall. The programme will be led by Sam Iles who will work as a Diversity Champion with Stonewall.
- Cultural Diversity in Alpha is a programme led by Divakar Padmanathan that aims to provide support for those with diverse social-economic backgrounds find their way into business life; the programme is offered in partnership with SEO London.
