FRP Advisory launches an office in Milton Keynes
FRP Advisory has opened a new office in Milton Keynes. The locale will be led by Marco Piacquadio, who joins the firm from Begbies Traynor’s own hub in the city.
Outside of London, Milton Keynes is one of the most successful local economies in the UK, ranking highly on a number of criteria. It has the UK's fifth-highest number of business start-ups per capita, and is home to several major national and international companies. In 2017, it was even reported by the Centre for Economics and Business Research that Milton Keynes had overtaken Cambridge as the UK's fastest-growing town or city economy in the country.
As a result, the city’s economy boasts a highly developed professional service cluster, which – according to Invest Milton Keynes – includes more than 400 head office and financial services companies, and a specialist workforce of more than 22,000 people. The latest firm hoping to tap into that thriving market is FRP Advisory, with the consultancy launching its 22nd UK office in Milton Keynes in April 2021.
Founded in 2010, FRP is a national business consultancy, specialising in forensics, corporate finance, debt, restructuring and pensions, and delivering strategic solutions across a broad range of situations and industries. The firm also has hubs in Aberdeen, Birmingham, Brentwood, Brighton, Bristol, Chelmsford, Durham, Edinburgh, Inverness, Leeds, Leicester, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Norwich, Nottingham, Preston, Reading, Sidcup, St Albans, and Teesside.
The firm’s new office in Milton Keynes will be located in Witan Studios with vast desk space, complete with a meeting room and collaboration space to support future expansion. The locale will be launched by new recruit Marco Piacquadio, who joins the firm as a Partner.
Marco Piacquadio
With more than 16 years of experience in the restructuring sector, he has spent his career helping clients on a broad range of corporate and personal insolvency matters, and has accrued significant expertise in identifying and implementing effective restructuring solutions for businesses and their stakeholders.
Speaking on Piacquadio’s arrival, Jeremy French, COO of FRP, remarked, “Marco’s experience and knowledge of the local market, along with his connections in the local intermediary community, demonstrate that he is well placed to launch our Milton Keynes office. His appointment gives us a really strong footing in the region, and I have no doubt that he will play an integral role in the expansion of our firm and the support we continue to provide to businesses across the region.”
He most recently worked with insolvency specialist Begbies Traynor, where he was also a Partner, and led the growth of its Milton Keynes team following the launch of that office in 2018. Over the following three years, Piacquadio led more than 250 corporate appointments across a variety of sectors, including retail, hospitality and leisure.
His most recent achievements meanwhile include leading the successful rescue and sale of a number of businesses out of administration, such as a multi-site plumbing and heating merchant based in East Anglia; a golf club and hotel in the eastern counties; a chain of coffee shops based around the northern home counties; and an iconic and well-known fragrance brand.
Commenting on his appointment, Piacquadio said, “I’ve always admired FRP, both in terms of their approach to restructuring and the quality and complexity of cases they’re working on… I am looking forward to hitting the ground running.”
